The short version

  • Your formulas are yours. We don't sell them, share them with salons or brands, or use them to advertise to you. You can print or export all of them whenever you like.
  • No ads, no tracking. The app has no advertising and no analytics that follow you around.
  • The microphone and camera work only when you tap them. A voice note or photo you send is read into text and then discarded. We don't keep it.
  • Close your account and everything goes: your clients, your formulas and your login.

1. Who we are

ColorDex Lite is a formula keeper for hair colorists. It is a Prism Salon Systems product, built by JSG Labs. Both are divisions of Geldrich Corporation.

The app is published on Apple's App Store and TestFlight by Kiss Off Inc., a related company, and Kiss Off Inc. is responsible for the information described in this policy. In this policy "we" means Kiss Off Inc. and the Geldrich divisions that build and run ColorDex, and "you" means the stylist using the app.

2. What we collect

Your account

Your name and email address, so you can sign in and find your records on any phone. Your password is handled by Google's Firebase Authentication service. We never see it and can't read it.

What you put in the app

The records you create: client names, any phone numbers, email addresses and notes you add, and each formula with its date, services and notes. Formulas you set aside as temp saves are kept the same way, and so are items in Recently Deleted.

Voice notes and photos you choose to send

When you tap the microphone, or take or choose a photo of a formula card, that recording or picture is sent to be read into text. Section 4 explains what happens to it.

Things that stay on your phone

Your appearance and date settings, alarm choices, running timers and their history live only on your phone. So do changes and recordings waiting for a signal, until they can be sent. None of this is sent to us.

3. What we don't collect

4. How voice notes and photos are read

A voice note or photo goes over an encrypted connection to our server on Google Cloud. The server passes it to Google's Gemini service, which turns it into text: the client's name, the formula and any notes. That text comes back to your phone, where you review and correct it before anything is saved.

5. Where your data is kept

Your account and records are stored with Google Firebase, a service Google runs for app developers. Only your own login can open your records, because the database refuses everyone else, including other ColorDex users. Data travels over encrypted connections, and Google encrypts it where it is stored.

6. Your clients' information

The client names, contact details and formulas in ColorDex belong to you, the stylist who collected them. We keep them only so you can use them. We never contact your clients and never use their information for anything else.

Because those records are yours, you can take them with you. Print & Export in the app prints them, saves them as a PDF, or writes a spreadsheet file, whenever you want. When you collect a client's details, you are responsible for having their okay to keep them, as the rules where you work require.

7. Who we share with

We don't sell your information or your clients' information, and we don't share it for advertising. It goes only to:

8. Keeping and deleting

9. Beta testing

If you're testing ColorDex Lite through Apple's TestFlight, Apple shares your tester email with us, along with any feedback, screenshots or crash reports you choose to send. We use these only to fix and improve the app. Apple's own handling of TestFlight data is covered by Apple's privacy policy.

10. Children

ColorDex Lite is a professional tool for stylists. It is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

11. Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. If a change affects what we collect or who we share it with, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
